VS 2008 Solution Explorer Autohide

Posted by Lakshmi Sravanthi Chowdam on September 12, 2009

In Visual Studio 2008,

I lost AutoHide feature on that window. when I right click on Solution explorer I see that AutoHide is disabled.

How can I enable it.

 2) Also I like all my autohide windows on left hand. how can I move right hand windows to left hand like resource view.

Solution:

Two things you can try:

1. Window->ResetWindow Layout

2. Tools->Import and Export Settings… Reset All Settings (Whether you save the current settings or not is your choice).

    How to auto hide a view in VS2008

    1. Bring Toolbox view up by View->Toolbox if it is not Auto Hide or up already
    2. Dock the view to the side you want to auto hide
    3. Select Auto Hide from the up right corner drop down menu or right click on the docked view

    To bring the auto hide view from right to left hand, set them to Dockable first, then dock them to left, make them Auto Hide

    The Auto Hide menu should be enabled after it is docked.
